Built for Strahan’s Harbour Master in 1896, Franklin Manor has stood watch over the harbour for more than a century.

Set in a gorgeous heritage building in a lovely garden. The rooms are comfortable with modern amenities, but still retain a heritage aesthetic. There's a bar and a couple of lounge areas (one with a big fireplace) where you can sip your drinks and feel like you're in 19th century luxury. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. And while it feels secluded it's actually only a few minutes' walk from the centre of town, restaurants, and cruise ships.

How nice is it to find a quality small hotel that exudes character, charm and quality service, food and wine in a small village like Strahan. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. We were treated to a great meal with a French twist and fine wines that were at least equal to what you would expect in any capital city anywhere in Australia. If you are going to explore the beautiful West Coast of Tasmania then you would be hard pressed to find better accommodation than Franklin Manor.

Just brilliant! French team preparing and serving the very best of French food with Tasmanian ingredients and FR / TAS wine. This place would be good in Paris, and it was good here. Francois and the chef did a brilliant job and made us very welcome. Very knowledgeable about food and wine and they’ve assembled an amazing wine collection too. Can’t recommend them highly enough.
